Miguel Angel and Edith

Miguel Angel’s story:

I was born in the city of Hermosillo, in Sonora State, where I also spent the majority of my life. I am the third of 4 siblings in my family. God rescued me when I was 23 years old and after that I studied at a Bible institute in Ensenada, Baja California for 9 months. In 2017, the year after I graduated from the Bible institute, I studied at the Christian Education Center (CEC) where God confirmed my calling to serve in missions. In 2018, I began taking classes at the Mexican Bible Seminary in Hermosillo and my goal is to finish studying my theology courses and serve God in the best way that I can.

Edith’s story:

I was born in Mexico City, but I spent most of my life in Morelos State. I am the second of 3 sisters. I was born in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was an adolescent. When I was 12, my heart was touched in a missions event for children and ever since that desire has been growing in me.

My parents are teachers at the Christian Education Center (CEC) while Miguel was a student there. My dad suffered a stroke in 2017 and I spent a month at the CEC helping with his care and treatment. During this time, I got to know the CEC, my parents’ colleagues, the directors and the students, including Miguel, and that is where our stories came together.

After I returned to Morelos, the CEC invited me to help with administration for the center and I moved to San Carlos in November 2017. Miguel and I had become friends during this time and began dating in May of 2019. We were engaged in February of 2019 and got married on May 31st.

From the beginning of our relationship, we had talked about attending a missionary training together as a couple. Once we were married, it was time to think about setting possible dates to accomplish our future goals. The directors of the CEC offered for us to work in the care, maintenance and administration of the Center after we were married and this has been a great blessing. Thanks to God, we are living at the CEC and working at the same time; we really are blessed and privileged by this gift.
